A: Yes, on all NS Instruments the bridge height is easily adjustable using the two adjustment screws located underneath the bridge and
accessible from the back of the instrument. (See photos below: Left photo of bass, right photo of violin/cello) Turning the screws
clockwise, you will raise the bridge; counter-clockwise will lower.
A: The Cello and Bass have an adjustable truss rod to control neck relief. The Violin and Viola are not adjustable. On all Basses and CR Cellos, the truss rod is accessed at the headstock, just above the nut. Using the supplied allen wrench, turn counter-clockwise to increase relief; clockwise to decrease. The truss rod in the US Cello is accessible from inside the body.
A: Adjacent to each individual pickup is an adjusting set screw. Loosen the set screw to adjust the pickup to the desired height. The US and EU models are spring loaded while CR models are not. On the CR models, the adjustment set screw is threaded into a small housing next to the larger pickup coil. Tighten the set screw to lock pickup height in place.
A: Please follow these
End Pin Conversion Kit instructions.
A: Behind the top backplate, you will find the preamp. On the preamp you will find 4 trim pots. (See photos below: Left-Bass, Right-Violin/Cello) The top, individual pot is for the magnetic pickup signal. This does not pertain to the piezos. Below are three consecutive pots. From left to right they are: L-arco Mid-Pizz R-Blend.
Using a small screwdriver, carefully adjust them to preferred balance. You can easily check their balance by switching between modes as you adjust. They should all carry a similar signal strength.
A: The top trim pot on the NSDB?s preamp controls the gain of the EMG system. You can easily match the signals by setting the switch in one position, and rotating fully the blend knob between magnetic only (fully counter-clockwise) and piezo only (fully clockwise) as you adjust the pot.
A: Yes, however, special strings will be required.
